Western Australia is the largest of the Australian states covering about one third of the continent. Perth, the Capital of Western Australia, situated near the coast on the Swan River, has a population of approx 1.5 million (2/3 of the state's total population). It enjoys a warm, sunny climate with the hottest month being February when the daily temperatures have an average maximum of 30°C (with several days peaking at 40°C) and a minimum of 19°C. The coolest month is July when the temperatures range between 18°C maximum and 9° minimum (with some nights dropping as low as 0°C).The average annual rainfall of 880 mm occurs mainly between May and September.

Suburbs extending in a 40km radius of Perth have an extensive coastline with good beaches suitable for bathing and other areas providing great surfing. Parks and children's playgrounds are spread throughout the suburbs. The area has excellent sporting facilities and clubs representing most sports.
Perth is a multicultural society, with its population drawn from all areas of the world.

Sebenarnya, aku telah pergi ke Perth ini 2 kali dalam 1 tahun yang sama bulan April & bulan Nov 2012. Jadi gambar pun dah bercampur aduk

The SWAN BELL TOWER

The Swan Bell Tower is situated on the Barrack Street Jetty, and overlooks the Swan River.  The observation deck provides  panoramic views across Perth Water, and the city skyline.

History records the existence of the bells before the 14th century, and being recast in the 16th century by Queen Elizabeth the 1st.  The bells were again recast between 1725 and 1770.

The Belfry.

The Swan Bell Tower is one of the largest purpose built musical instruments in the world.  The tip of it's towering glass spire rises a lofty 82.5 metres above the Swan River.  The Swan Bells are hung for "change ringing", meaning it is not possible to play any tunes.  Each bell is rung by a person, in a sequence determined by the conductor.  You only need to do the maths, to appreciate the number of ringing orders possible.

Bell ringing is a serious business.  The St Martin's Society of Change Ringers, welcomes change ringers from all over the world, to have a friendly tinkle while visiting Perth. So why not give us a ring, or two.

Melawat ke Zoo Perth pulak...

Perth Zoo was opened on 17 October 1898. The first exhibits built included two bear caves, a monkey house, a mammal house and a model castle for guinea pigs. The first animals on display included an orangutan, two monkeys, four ostriches, a pair of lions, and a tiger. The zoo had 53,000 visitors in its first nine months, and has not been closed for a single day since it was opened.

Perth Zoo has three main zones - Australian Walkabout, Asian Rainforest and African Savannah - with a few minor exhibit areas (Lesser Primates, South American birds, Main Lake, Galapagos Tortoises). All exhibits are designed to mimic the animals' natural habitats and utilise passive barriers where possible.

Australian Walkabout
The Australian Walkabout includes the Australian Wetlands and Penguin Plunge, Reptile Encounter, Australian Bushwalk, aviaries and the Nocturnal House. The Australian Wetlands includes black swan, black-necked stork, brolga, little pied cormorant, darter, blue-billed duck, freckled duck, Australian shelduck, Rajah shelduck, Eurasian coot, yellow-billed spoonbill, black-winged stilt, little egret, pied heron, plumed whistling duck, estuarine crocodile, freshwater crocodile, motorbike frog, splendid tree frog, Western swamp tortoise. The Penguin Plunge is home to little penguins and bridled terns.

African Savannah
The African Savannah replaced a variety of barred cages, and was the largest construction project undertaken at the zoo when it was created. The exhibit recreates the African savannah, and includes African painted dogs, African lions, cheetahs, Grant's zebras, Hamadryas baboons, Meerkats, radiated tortoises, Rothschild's giraffes, spotted hyaenas and southern white rhinoceroses. Visitors view the animals from a path that simulates a dry riverbed running through the savannah.

Asian Rainforest
The Asian Rainforest is home to a number of threatened Asian species. These include the Asian elephants, Asian small-clawed otters (which can be viewed underwater through a glass window), Red Pandas, Silvery Gibbons, Sumatran orangutans, Sumatran tigers, sun bears, and White-cheeked gibbons. Perth Zoo contributes to the conservation of many of these species in the wild. The Zoo's Sumatran Orangutan breeding program is the most successful in the world, having bred 27 orangutans since 1970. In 2006 it released one of its zoo-born orangutans into the wild in Sumatra as part of an international program to re-establish a wild population of the critically endangered ape.

Subhanallah..aku terpikat dengan pancaran matahari ini ke dalam tasik tika itu...

Zoo ni tersangatlah luas kawasannya, sehingga aku tersesat untuk mencari jalan keluarnya...

Barrack Street Jetty, is one of the Transperth jetties, located on Perth's Swan River and home to the Bell Tower, ferry and cruise operators, many restaurants and cafes, attractions, recreation facilities and events.

FREMANTLE

Fremantle is a city in Western Australia, located at the mouth of the Swan River. Fremantle Harbour serves as the port of Perth, the state capital. Fremantle was the first area settled by the Swan River colonists in 1829. It was declared a city in 1929, and has a population of approximately 25,000.

The city is named after Captain Charles Fremantle, the English naval officer who had pronounced possession of Western Australia and who established a camp at the site. The city contains well-preserved 19th-century buildings and other heritage features. more info..
